Day 2 May 9. More sites of Budapest

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting our guide, Dragon, and the rest of our group. There are about 12 couples in total. We went by bus to the highest place in Budapest, Centadella, and enjoyed the views there. Dragon brought an older man to give us more in-depth info on the area. The only problem is that his accent was impossible to understand. Right after Dragon told us to stay together and not get lost we notice he wasn’t with us but had gotten separated from us with another woman of the group! We finally found our guide but I was seeing the beginnings of a Saturday Night Live sketch with the unfolding events. Matthias church, also known  as the Coronation Church and 3 other names was truly amazing. We could see that all the restoration of these 13th, 16th century buildings must be an enormous expense. Everything was beautiful. We also got to see the changing of the guard, and it was amazing to watch a trained eagle pose, along with breathtaking views from the top of Budapest.

More spectacular views

The evening was spent on a boat cruise of the Danube. The sunset and the lights on the bridges after the sun went down at 8:00 created an impressive  show.
